Rooney Magic

Well, for all ya Rooney doubters out there, take a hike!!!!! Rooney was awesome in ManU's match against Bolton, who by the way, looked like a Championship team, especially in the first half when ManU just ripped them apart. 4-0 to ManU, Rooney scores a hat-trick, great attacking and entertaining display yet again...what more does a fan want? Yes, the league title...but still a long way to go.

Rooney gets his ball

Chelsea, as always, relied upon a bit of luck as the Sheffield goalkeeper's mistake gave them the lead. And once, they take the lead, do they ever lose that? Trip to the Nou Camp awaits now, but given Barca's recent poor showing in Eto'o's absence, I wouldn't be surprised if the Catalans struggle at their home stadium.

Everton did extremely well for a team with so many players ill during midweek, denying the Gunners all 3 points at the Emirates Stadium. Cahill has been one of best attacking midfielders in EPL over the last 3 seasons, and deserves every bit to have been nominated for the world player of the year.

Villa's unbeaten run came to an end as expected, at Anfield. Liverpool, having been criticised all week for their show at OT, had to answer with goals, and they did. 3-1 to the Kop and Rafa is spared of the criticism for at least a week now.

What a way for Rooney to come back to goal-scoring! A hat-trick. That'll give him a much needed confidence boost.

I'm impressed by Everton. I didn't expect them to win at Emirates at all.

Too bad for Villa. Liverpool aren't out of hot water yet though-- they still haven't bagged an away win. Their next away game is at Emirates, ironically enough. Before that, they face Reading at home. It'll be interesting to see if Reading can pull off a draw. They've already played the Reds, so they have a good idea of what to expect 4-Nov.

I'm one who believes - and still believing - in Rooney. So, well, there you have it. Our hero just showed the world what he is capable of when he is most lethal.

Given Chelsea's recent performances, I really do not think they can last long, even with Ballack and Sheva picking up on form. In due time, injuries that plagued the squad are going to show up as blind spots, especially in the goalkeeping department I believe.

As for Arsenal, it's still early days at Emirates and I feel that players need a certain incubation period to get used to. After all, the pitch is slightly bigger than Highbury's, and that's one little problem the team has to get over with. And quickly.

Yes...Rooney did show he is more than a good player...he is a great player! I hope he carries on his form and scores more goals this season. Btw, did u see the way Vida (Nemanja Vidic) played? he was awesome, won every header and looked so confident. he is my player of the match along with Rooney.

Everton has improved as team under Moyes and put up a good fight at the Emirates...I'm think the young players at Arsenal still need a season or 2 more to mature and challenge Chelsea and ManU for the title. Liverpool still needs to convince me...can they win away consistently?

I was hoping Cech would get injured...but not a head injury! it's a pity that this has to happen to one of the mild-mannered guys at Chelsea...and, it was shocking just to see him, his head shaved and struggling to speak. I hope he gets better soon.

OOPS! I meant to write 'draw at Emirates' not 'win'-- regarding Everton
