Champions, Injured Rooney and a Beaming Mclaren

Terry lifts the Trophy

Barca Players Rejoice

As expected, Chelsea and Barcelona retain their league titles.
Rooney is most likely to miss out on the World Cup and with it, all hopes of a England victory are almost gone unless Sven can inspire the rest of the players and achieve a miracle.

Steve Mclaren was a surprise choice for the England manager position. The English FA were certainly made to look stupid when Felipe Scolari rejected their offer.

I am not a big fan of Mac but I think he has to do a good job given the resources he has at his disposal. For me, Guus Hiddink would have been the perfect choice.

Hiddink would have been the top choice of my list too. But he would have shared that position with Mourinho in my case. Mourinho is a master in utilizing his resources perfectly. We've seen it in Porto itself. With England blessed with good talent, he would have been as good as if not better than Hiddink. The slight difference that weighs in Hiddink's favour is he has experience in coaching national teams. Wenger would have been the second choice. Scolari or Capello would have been the third choice.

as we all know, Wenger likes to work with young players not stars...he likes to build a team around a great player...he would definitely make a great coach for France and seriously the French need him...their national team is in a dismal state and none better than Wenger would be perfect to revive their fortunes.
I would be surprised if they make it past the 2nd round.

I mean Wenger had worked with older stars too. Arsenal's ageing impregnable back four was inherited by Wenger initially. He can work with stars. But the fact that he prefers youngsters is undisputable. Maybe he'll make England under-21 their national team.
