More than Just a Shirt!

ManUtd signed an agreement with insurer American International Group (AIG) in a new shirt deal worth £56.5m over four years, the biggest ever in UK.

The new shirt deal has not been without controversy. Earlier this week United were accused of "double dealing" by online casino firm Mansion. The company's chief negotiator claimed that Mansion and United had verbally agreed to a £70m shirt sponsorship deal before the football club pulled out. The club countered that it never holds exclusive talks and it was perfectly entitled to hold discussions with other firms.

Good news for ManUtd fans, but nothing beats the shirt with the Vodafone logo!

I read in some magazine that AIG is under some financial constraint. Like Glazer, the're also foraying in with the thought of milking money from United's fan base.

One more doubt. The picture enclosed by you looks to be copyrighted?

Vodafone was perfect. Atleast, you should be thankful for it being AIG rather than ur feared Al- Ittihad.

Which midfielder is going to get into the new kit? Diarra looks to have a lot of suitors other than the usual suspects. Gattuso might be a traffic free route.

I don't know why my blog does not get so many comments. One reason may be lack of publicity. The other may be that I'm stating the obvious in a more neutral point of view.

I was watching this interesting programme in TEN sports on the catalan Madrid rivalry. They told that unlike Real Madrid TV, Canal Barca focusses little on players. (good for the viewers in the sense that they don't bore you with same tape for weeks). They focus more on the culture, history of Catalunya and the language. Catalans look to be pious and devoted. I believe it'll be more like watching History channel rather than a sports channel. For the sake of United TV, should u spend so much?Don't waste money on a DTH.

For me, Steve Bennett has to be among the worst referees in EPL.

Yeah...I watched the program on Real-Barca rivalry...good one. Always good to see the showcasing of real clubs with real history and tradition. Real and Barca are no doubt among the best clubs in the world.

Btw, does anyone have a clip of the incident where a pighead thrown at Figo in 2000-01 season at the Nou Camp for his betrayal? I can understand now how much the Barca people loved him to later have loathed him so much!
