Group B consisting of France, Italy and Ukraine seems to the one to watch out for. England has a relatively easier group with Croatia and Russia being their main opponents. Qualifying starts on Sept. 2 2006 and ends on Nov. 21 2007. The finals to be held jointly by Switzerland and Austria, run from June 7-29, 2008.

England are in a dream group.
Poor Scotland are with Les bleus,azzuri.How unfortunate?
Also wales and Rep of ireland in the same grp.
I cant wait for Italy vs france.But then it might happen in the world cup.
France is one of my favorites to get knocked out in the early rounds of the WC. I am sure Italy would take their revenge against the Les Blues for their golden goal loss in the Euro 2000 Final.
France has lost almost all its wonderful footballers of the '98 era to time. They are going thru a period of transition. But some youth are coming thru testified by Euro under-19 triumph. Whatever said and done, Italy are big game chokers. They have proved it more than France have. On any day, I would still not put my money on Italy going through against equally strong teams like France. Even the brightest individuals like Totti and Del Piero are unable to guide them to glory. The Azzurri have some mental block similar to Argentina's and Spain's and are yet to overcome it inspite of playing at the world cups consistently.
you speak to soon!! if englands group was "easy" then what on earth happened last night... good riddance to steve mclaren... he had his chance, and he failed... quite miserably. im guessing few of us english will be putting a bet on football during the Euro Finals next year. Just out of interest, if you were to participate in a bit of football betting at some stage during the Euros, who would you back? im going with italy or portugal!! as for next england manager - lets see another englishman... not because im xenophobic, but because i want to see an england team who are proud to be doing what they are doing!!
